The O2 Institute in Birmingham came close to a party hub on Saturday night, as Picture This, the Irish sensation, took the stage. The atmosphere was full of excitement and anticipation.

Picture This features the charismatic Ryan Hennessy leading on vocals, Jimmy Rainsford expertly drumming away, Owen Cardiff effortlessly shredding on lead guitar, and Cliff Deane grooving on bass. Their passion and charisma were infectious throughout the night and the entire venue was pulsating with energy.

Before the band appeared, two energetic DJs had already set the mood even more following Tom Gregory’s set, ensuring the crowd was primed for a night they wouldn’t soon forget. The night kicked off with “Red Lights,” instantly igniting the crowd and setting the tone for what was to be a rollercoaster of emotions and musical brilliance. The infectious energy continued as they transitioned seamlessly into “Things Are Different” and “When We Were Young,” with the entire venue reverberating with the cheers and sing-alongs of the ecstatic young crowd.

The stage was bathed in a kaleidoscope of lights, framed by trees and a full-size car in the middle, with the drum kit carefully placed on top. The band’s performance was more than just a recital of their hits; it was an immersive experience that brought so many of their fans together.

The setlist included a mix of songs from their latest album, “Parked Car Conversations,” as well as fan favorites from their previous work. “Winona Ryder” and “One Night” were particular crowd-pleasers, with the audience singing along to every word. “Addict of Magic” showcased the band’s musical prowess, with intricate guitar work and the beloved catchy rhythm that we all love.

As the night wore on, the band shared their soul with us through “Jane” and “Ireland,” revealing the raw emotions that define their music. “Unconditional” and “LA House Party” brought back the party vibe and kept everyone moving.

The audience was absolutely spellbound during “You & I.” We swayed in unison, every voice united, making it a moment to treasure. “Never Change” and “One Drink” kept the fire burning, and “Leftover Love” and “Addicted to You” connected with each one of us even more.

“Get On My Love” followed up next with its infectious chorus that had everyone sing in unison. The show’s climax was “Take My Hand” – “the song that started the band”, as Hennessy announced. It was an instant hit eight years ago when they posted the music video and many fans have been following the band’s journey ever since. It was more than just a song; it was an anthem that resonated deep within us.
