White To Appear At The Rainbow
White will play The Rainbow Cellar as part of their current tour, on 3rd March
Brumlive has great juicy expectations of this naughtily influenced Glaswegian five-piece band. ‘Taking their lead from the adventurous, art-pop of Roxy Music and LCD Soundsystem with a heavy dose of the Associates and the funk guitar of the likes of Nile Rodgers, White will continue to defy convention and tread their own musical path into the new year and beyond.’
‘They have featured in the likes of the Guardian, Clash, NME, Q and Mixmag, whilst being on the In New Music We Trust playlist on BBC Radio 1. They’ve received support from Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart, as well as Zane Lowe and Elton John on Beats Music. Radio X have also been strong supporters so far.’
WHITE have played the Gentlemen Of The Road Festival in Aviemore with Mumford And Sons and appeared at Reading & Leeds Festival. They will wrapped up 2015 with two dates in London in December before returning to Scotland to play Hogmanay in Edinburgh last New Year’s Eve.
Closet, Average White Band desperadoes will be admitted on a need-to-listen priority with counselling arrangements available… but no white flares please; even ironic.
White’s final three dates on their UK tour before they head off to Europe are:
1st March – GREEN DOOR STORE -Brighton
2nd March – THE BREWHOUSE – London
3rd March – RAINBOW CELLAR – Birmingham
Support for White will be from SLTP. With the Birmingham music scene continuing to move quickly, new bands seem to be unearthed every day along with new and interesting music, one of the more recent additions to this list is SLTP. SLTP were selected as a Tom Robinson Fresh Fave recently. Upcoming slots at the Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City are also in the pipeline.
