Headliners on 17th June are Underground Ocean, Worcester wunderkinds of no nonsense rock, who are seriously establishing a reputation.

Variously described as ‘Manics merged with Foo Fighters’ they are known for creating a huge impact and atmosphere with their fearsome driving wall of sound. Formed in 2014, drummer Lee Evans (no not that one!) has serious form with a CV to make many a band weep for.

Lee has toured extensively around the USA and Europe supporting bands such as L.A. Guns (Both), Ratt, Twisted Sister, Poison, Vince Neil, Bang Tango, Skid Row, Faster Pussycat and Dirty Penny. He performed main-stage at the Rocklahoma festival, Oklahoma, 2007, aged 18.

On the back of very well received earlier singles, this April saw them release their eponymous 5 track E.P. A UK tour at the end of July is being finalized. Final recordings and mixing of their debut album follow that.

The band is from Worcester and formed in early 2014. They are a 4 piece consisting of members Stuart McDonnell, Matt Beddoes, Lee Evans and George Parker. Influences include Foo Fighters, Police, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Fleetwood Mac and many more.

The band has performed at different venues across England, selling out home town gigs from the beginning, first being a 250 capacity venue. Following successful tours the UK and Europe and appearances at festivals in 2015, the band are looking to take that success into 2016.

“Here’s a band that grab the attention from the opening chord, hooking the listener in from the get go, with their keen sense of melody, powerful riffs and winning vocal hooks” – Rhythm and Booze Magazine

At their appearance at the o2 Institute on 17th June, Underground Ocean will be supported by Lady Grey and Maybe Don’t.

Tickets are available from Birmingham Promoters.
