The venue is awful, the old Academy was piss-poor for sound, view, sticky floor (which remains in the new venue) but at least you could park and get a decent pint. The new venue is nowhere near a carpark and serves ginger beer! The piss-pots in the gents have disco lights and it’s a pity emphasis has been placed on misguided things like this rather than sound and vision.
The Twang shouldn’t really have been on this bill, they were, for what bit I caught of them, dreadful, and to suggest they’re local heroes is wrong.
The venue was full for The Stuffies, yes the balcoy was closed but this was to enable the film crew to film for a DVD release.

The main gripes were the ridiculors late start, I left myself during the encore due to a drive back home and work the next day, and there was a steady stream of others leaving early too. The best plan would’ve been to get rid of the Twang and start at 8.30 for the Stuffies.

I do wonder if you prefered the Twang to the Stuffies reading this and also the fact there’s more emphasis on their set-list than the Stuffies which has a few errors.
