The Wedding Present

Amazing really that one of the most heartfelt, bittersweet albums of love and longing now reaches thirty!  To celebrate The Wedding Present are touring the album (and no doubt some other great songs) with a visit to the o2 Academy on 8th June.

This is part of an extensive touring year for The Wedding Present.  2017 has seen a range of dates across the States already, after the UK they are off to Australia and New Zealand.  They will then return for festivals including At The Edge of the Sea, the festival curated and organised by David Gedge.

George Best is a constant in the Birmingham Live teams favourite albums, it is, in our opinion one of the best pieces of work as a full album.  GB is amongst the indie greats that we champion.

The NME described George Best as “an unmitigated delight” upon its release and included it in its 2014 list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” Allmusic says “It would be nearly impossible to name the standout tracks, since… every tune is so solid.”

David Gedge songwriter, frontman and whirling speed guitarist will bring the whole experience to Birmingham – we will be singing down the front with the best.
