The first of tonight’s band is the local trio, Circus Town. Opening with the track Beg, it is clear that this band know what they are doing by unleashing their immense sound upon the crowd. During Hear My Devil, the rhythm section provide a growling heaviness which the vocals cut through demonstrating this band’s ear for subtlety without losing the depth. |

The room is pretty empty when Diamonds kick off, but that doesn't stop the impressively talented frontman from storming into the crowd from the first beat. The band really set the tone of the night, it's all about spazcore ADHD indie-metal tonight. |

Perhaps a torrential downpour is not exactly what you would wish for on your way to a gig in a garden! Thankfully the garden in question belongs to The Rainbow pub in Digbeth with its marquee-style courtyard and I am here to see what I would term a line-up of bands with a neo-punk persuasion – not so much emulating the good old punk of yore but certainly a genre of music having its roots firmly planted there. |
