Opening tonight’s sold out show was a young self-made hip-hop artist with an interesting twist. Master Shortie began with his electronica/rap version of Adam and the Ants’ ‘Prince Charming’ and straight away built up a great rapport with the crowd. ‘Dance like a white boy’ was aggressive with a rock influence; ‘Swagga Chik’ was smooth jazz. |

You can tell tonight's gig is something special by the atmosphere outside the venue and the vast amounts of cash that tickets are being traded for. It has been nine years since AC/DC last played Birmingham on their Stiff Upper Lip tour and there are far more fans than there are tickets for the event... |

Tonight has started bad. The car park is full, due to some guy I’ve never heard of playing the main Civic Hall. Then the queue at the box office is massive, also due to that same guy, so I completely miss the support act. To be honest, I don’t even know who they were or even if there was one! |
