Snow Patrol @ Birmingham LG Arena – 4th February 2012
The weatherman predicted a huge dump of snow across the country with warnings across the Midlands. And they got it right. And tonight, at the LG Arena, the aptly titled Snow Patrol play Birmingham as part of their nine-date UK tour.
Unfortunately neither myself, or John Kirby, who offered to stand in at the last minute, like many fans, could make it to the LG Arena. However, Birmingham Live’s intrepid photographer Ken Harrison did make it and here are the pictures of the night.
Support tonight was from British indie newcomers from Everything Everything, critically acclaimed as part of BBC’s Sound of 2010 longlist. Take a listen to their 2010 album ‘Man Alive’.
Snow Patrol are on their UK tour promoting their latest offering ‘Fallen Empires’, after gaining international superstar status following their 2003 album ‘Final Straw.’ Set lists from previous shows on this tour showed they would perform a mix of tracks, old and new – for those that made it – we hope you had a blast.
Official social media feeds showed many fans didn’t make the journey last night, and there is vague talk of refunds for those who couldn’t make it. Suggest you keep an eye on the LG Arena official feeds for latest information. For those who braved the elements, enjoy the pictures of a night that was truly eventful for reasons other than the bands. Let’s hope Snow Patrol return again soon, for all to see.
