Section Boyz + TE dness + DJ Grievious @ The Institute, 22nd February 2016
After a great 2015 for Section Boyz after supporting Rae Sremmurd at the Institute the last time they were in Birmingham, they had came me back for their own show tonight; a show which was sold out many weeks ago.
This is part of their “Sectioned Tour” which sold out all dates were sold out so quickly they have added more to meet demand.
The night started off with DJ Grievious getting the crowd amped for the first support TE dness who performed some new material taken from his latest release “Not Much Longer”
DJ Grievious then too back to the stage to get the crowd ready for the main act. Section Boyz came out with a lot of energy and got their fans really into the show by coming in to the pit area and engaging with the crowd. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the amount of water thrown into the crowd but their fans seemed to enjoy it.
The South London rappers which performed with Rita Ora last year at the Mobo’s and took home the best newcomers of 2015, preformed songs like “Lock Arff” and “Trappin Ain’t Dead” which had their fans moshing for the majority of the night. They also performed their new song called “Oi (Section Boyz Remix)” which they done as a collaboration with the brand Trapstar Clothing.
To my surprise the guys had to take a break which was something you don’t see at most gigs, but shocked the crowd with a special guest from Nottingham, up and coming “Lord Of The Mics” MC Mez, who came out with a lot of energy to re-hype the crowd.
