Palaye Royale @ KK’s Steel Mill Wolverhampton 23rd February 2020

What a week it has been for Palaye Royale , the first show of the uk tour in Glasgow was cancelled just hours before the show, but not to disappoint the fans they played a acoustic set outside the venue for free.  The the next 2 shows in Manchester and London went ahead as scheduled then Saturday evening  less than 24hrs before the show in Birmingham the band released a statement across their social media platforms announcing that like Glasgow the show had been cancelled

Palaye Royales statement on Saturday evening

Our hearts are broken. Birmingham show has been cancelled due to “Palaye Royale being a risk to the audience”. This is not okay – we are truly sorry. Scrambling to book another venue for tomorrow night; details coming. Some ONE individual is stripping us all of happiness.”

Shortly after the band posted that, they had found a venue to let them play an acoustic show for 450 people and details would follow later.  The bands fans were on twitter going a little crazy trying to find more information. Then the band post that KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton had come forward and struck a deal will the band to play a full show there on Sunday!  With the tickets being priced just to cover the costs of the venue and hire for the staff / security .  As they say….. The show must go on.

Forward to Sunday 8.30pm the lights drop and the fans that had been queuing up outside KK’s since well before 6pm start screaming with excitement as their idols take to the stage to the opening riffs of  “fucking with my head” still less than 24hrs since the original shows cancellation was announced. It’s amazing how fast the band and their team turned this around.  The sheer determination to deliver in full and not let their fans down is commendable.

Throughout the set singer Remington Leith jumped down onto the barrier to sing along with fans.  Later on he also got fully into the crowd with the band.

For some venues this is too much too wild..!  To others it’s just a rock show, with the band wanting to be at one with the people that support them.

Yes they have done some crazier things at shows before, hanging upside down from balcony’s etc.  but at the end of the day its just rock and roll and we love it…
