Tonight’s show has two supports, with the first being Skew Siskin. On first viewing, they’re simply a rock & roll band with a girl vocalist. But when they start to play, boy they’re loud. With a voice that most would be proud of, they set a good tone for the night.

Michael Monroe sure made his wishes know, and the impression left was brilliant. Performing as if this was his last ever gig, he was found throwing his mike everyone, wrapping it round, an even scaling the balcony and hanging over it as people looked up with genuine fear. If by nothing else, it’s fair to see most people would have been won over by the confidence, strut and energy on display.

This being a 35th Anniversary Tour it was hoped that tonight would act as a greatest hits evening, as a tribute to one of the essential rock bands today. With over 90% of the audience wearing the brand t-shirts, I always get the feeling that Motorhead fans are not virgins to the noise which they create. It’s certain that many Wolverhampton citizens will have ringing in their ears for a good few days.

A drum solo and guitar solo respectively, ensured that all the focus was not on Lemmy, but he’s such a gent that it’s hard not to. Ending the main set with the timeless Ace of Spades, just sent everyone into meltdown.

Coming back with an encore consisting of Born to Raise Hell and Overkill, which prompted a strobe light bonanza; it was made clear you’re at a Motorhead gig. Never letting up to an acoustic or slow moment, made it all the better to be a full on show to which you’ll never forget. Leaving the stage to a smoke filled stage, Motorhead still obviously reign triumphant against anyone who wishes to take notice.
