Of Mice & Men

Californian Metalcore outfit Of Mice & Men appeared at the o2 Academy in Birmingham recently. Brumlive’s Adriana Vasile was on hand to capture the event.

A magazine recently spotlighted Of Mice & Men as one of the leaders of “the new metal revolution.” But to think you can simply sum up this Southern California quintet by labeling them a metal act is to miss the point. Since the 2010 release of their self-titled debut, Of Mice & Men have hit No. 1 on Billboard, blanketed rock radio airwaves and garnered critical acclaim while amassing over 20 million YouTube views and close to 5 million social media followers on the strength of an electrifying sound and live show. The latter has seen them play to packed-house crowds on headlining tours around the world and key slots on top fests, including the Reading & Leeds Festival, where they were part of a star-studded lineup that included artists such as Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and many more.

They’have been in the studio working on the follow up to their album Restoring Force, which hit No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and No. 1 on both the Billboard Top Independent and Top Rock Albums Charts. Tracks from Restoring Force and RESTORING FORCE: FULL CIRCLE (deluxe double-disc, foil-stamped digipack that includes three brand-new songs and an acoustic version of the band’s hit, “Feels Like Forever.”) have been streamed more than 24 million times.

Restoring Force was the group’s third full-length album for Rise Records and follow-up to 2011 breakout The Flood. The title also sums up the group’s unbreakable spirit in the wake of line-up shifts and the grind every young band faces while trying to make its mark.
