Lotte Mullan at the Hare and Hounds next week

Lotte-Mullan-300

Lotte Mullan will be playing the Hare and Hounds on 25th March in support of her new album Love’s Bonfire.

Dubbed as the female Bob Dylan, Lotte has built a dedicated following with her personal, story telling songs that chronicle everyday life with heartbreaking honesty. The British music press raved about Lotte’s self released debut album Plain Jane christening her Indie-Country sound ‘Anglicana’ and crowing her “Suffolk’s Joni Mitchell”.

Lotte will be playing intimate versions of songs from her forthcoming album Love’s Bonfire, made out in Nashville with Band of Horses. The album is a gritty blend of alt-country and British Indie chronicling the “emotional seasons” of a relationship. Working with Band of Horses, she found her obsession with country music being met with the American Rockers’ love of The Smiths which resulted in a sound she describes as “a Trans-Atlantic mash-up”.

Fiercely DIY, Lotte turned down a major label deal with Warners and runs her own label Raindog Records. A blog she was writing about her misadventures in the music business was snapped up for a book and film deal by Elton John’s Rocket Pictures and Ridley Scott Productions used four of Lotte’s songs to soundtrack their latest short film ‘Kismet Diner’ which has had over 3 million hits on Youtube and won first prize at Manhattan Short film Festival.

Love’s Bonfire is released 9th March on Raindog Records via Absolute.
