Local Bands and Skydiving for St Mary’s Hospice Fundraiser
The lovely Esh Capelo is trying to raise money for the excellent charity St Mary’s Hospice, not only holding a gig featuring local bands at The Rainbow on Friday 8th February, but also risking life and limb in a death-defying sky dive!
The night will feature an awesome line-up of amazing local unsigned talent! 4 bands for only £4 – only £1 per band!
Psychedelic blues rockers VTCs are a heavy blues rock group with swirling hammond organ and tight rhythm section which can be likened to Steppenwolf, The Doors, Led Zep or Deep Purple. Unmissable live!
“Russian Gun Dogs trade in darkwave indie rock laced with driving guitar melodies.”
Warren Manger, The Music Abyss.
English of the sixth is a four piece Birmingham based rock/metal band. Relatively new, the band formed late September and have amassed a large following due to their healthy relationship with the fans. The band members are live music veterans and excel on all their respective instruments. The music is based heavily around repetitive catchy guitar riffs with a heavy distorted sound. The vocals are gritty and fast paced with a modern punk sound. Their songs are melodic with catchy choruses and blistering guitar solos. They are easy for all new listeners to enjoy. http://m.soundcloud.com/
“Sounding like a 9-piece band encased in 2 acoustic guitars and vocals, taking the over-ripe Acoustic folk scene and turning it on it’s head. They infuse each song, each performance with that life-affirming partnership they have, effortlessly gliding from glorious harmonies to stomping, head-banging riffs. Forever involving the audience in their gigs they feel it’s the most vital part of being in a band.”
