If you go down to the woods in July, you’re sure of a big surprise. No, not teddy bears eating sandwiches on gingham blankets, a load of great bands playing the 2000trees festival!

The festival takes place at Upcote Farm, near Cheltenham, from 7-9 July and this year sees the smashing weekend event turn 10 years old with a stellar lineup that keeps getting better.

The latest additions to the bill included, amongst others, Augustines, Ash and Sikth, joining a quite amazing cast the features Refused, Twin Atlantic, Mallory Knox, Neck Deep, While She Sleeps, The Bronx, Moose Blood, Milk Teeth, Creeper, Heck, Black Peaks, Lonely the Brave, Basement, Palm Reader, Zoax, Black Foxxes, Wstr and absolutely loads more.

So, aside from a cracking line up, what can 2000trees offer to the UK festival summer?

Well, the festival is a 5,000 capacity event – so it’s pretty intimate – there’s plenty of amazing food and locally produced ciders, ales and lagers – so it’s pretty tasty – and it is set in the Cotswold Hills – so it’s pretty.

The bulk of the bands play on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July, but there is also a limited number of Thursday tickets, offering punters an extra night and a few extra bands to boot. Oh, there’s also comedians performing throughout the weekend.

Finally, the festival has also just announced its fancy dress theme for this year; ‘what I wanted to be when I was 10’. So feel free to get involved with that too.

Basically, it’s going to rock.

Check back with us closer to the festival for our pick of the bands we’re really excited about watching, and maybe we’ll catch you for a cider in the Cotswolds sunshine!

Tickets for 2000trees start at £79 and are available from www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk.
