Kelly Oliver is coming to Brum on Wednesday 24th February for a performance at the Kitchen Garden Cafe in Kings Heath. She is one of the new breed of bright young musicians who stands out from the crowd with her ‘golden vocals’. With a critically acclaimed modern take on the acoustic folk tradition, Hertfordshire born and bred Kelly is bringing it right up to date with clever and contemporary lyrics, clearly audible in every self penned song, and accompanies herself with often intricate, beguiling arrangements showcasing her accomplished guitar and harmonica skills.

Her second album, Bedlam, is being released on March 6th but is available at all the gigs on her 18 date national headline tour which includes prestigious gigs at Gloucestershire’s The Convent and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s River Cottage, as well as cool indie venues such as our own Kitchen Garden Cafe where she is playing with Speak, Brother in support.

Kelly’s album has been featured on a number of radio stations and blogs and has gained Album of the Month status from Folk Radio UK and FolkWords,  who describe her album as ‘songs that touch you deep inside, cause eyes to water and hearts to rise..the early promise is fulfilled, the sound has developed and it’s clear how far this gifted and talented singer songwriter has come. The songs on ‘Bedlam’ will remain by your side long after the album has finished”
