Gomez + Fink @ Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall – 21st April 2009
A late starting April 21st show at the Wulfrun in Wolverhampton saw two excellent bands play to an eager crowd, the first act of the night was a solo artist going by the name of Fink, who simply sat in the centre of the stage with nothing but a guitar, microphone and an amazing set of songs.
Fink opened the night with an array of soothing and atmospheric songs playing off Distance And Time and Biscuits for Breakfast and his upcoming May 2009 Sort Of Revolution release on Ninja Tune Records
He received a good crowd response, not only because he was a pleasure to watch but also because of an amazing voice. A great opener for Gomez.
Gomez came out and played songs off their latest release with a great start to their set, much to the appreciation of the not-so-full Wulfrun Hall. The sound was incredible with a dazzling light show making this show one to remember for the crowd.
The band’s use of three strong vocalists works really well, each bringing a slightly different flavour to the sound. The jokes about the sold out Mcfly show next door however weren’t so cool – each of the bands appealing to a completely different age group and audience type.
However the people that were there to see Gomez enjoyed the show immensely, singing along to both the old and new songs. The sound and the lighting of the venue tonight the show spectacular.
Overall Fink and Gomez entertained the good people of Wolverhampton rather well.
